Quick! Somebody call the waaaambulance! Kirsten Dunst is sad!

Yesterday Kirsten Dunst (you know, the one all the bloggers were calling Kirsten Drunkst) announced that when she checked into the Cirque Lodge earlier this year, it was to battle depression, not a substance abuse or alcohol problem.

Now, I'm kind of torn on this one. On one hand, I sort of understand. If I Iooked like Kirsten Dunst I'd be depressed, too. On the other hand, why in the name of Carmen Electra's Stripper Pole would you check yourself into a drug rehab facility if you were just depressed? When you're down that low, everyone knows you check yourself into the loony bin (ask Britney!). Take yourself to Dr. Phil, not Dr. Drew!

I don't know about you guys, but I smell a bit of spin here. Career wise, it's way better to be depressed than to be a drug or alcohol fiend, and nobody wants to hire someone who is going to be too busy taking meds to shoot a film.

Either way, I hope she sorts out whatever issues she has. She was pretty good in Interview With A Vampire, and that alone makes me like her at least a little. Plus, she was pretty good in the Spiderman movies, so she gets some more credit from that.

Kirsten Dunst left her new Soho apartment today confirming recent reports of a NY home purchase. The recently rehabbed actress was seen leaving her penthouse pad via the back door with bodyguards. Dunst bought the eighth-floor co-op unit for $3,000,000. It has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom and boasts views of the Hudson River. Built in 1911, the block only has 8 apartments in total.

Spider Man actress Kirsten Dunst is reportedly the latest Hollywood starlet to check into rehab. The 25-year-old was devastated after breaking up with her boyfriend of six months, Razorlight front man Johnny Borrell, in August.

Reports are that she began taking anti-depressants to help get her back on her feet at her doctors' requests, but when she began mixing heavy nights of drinking with the prescriptions, it became too much for her to handle and turned into a downward spiral. Dunst sensed the need for help and checked into the Cirque Lodge in Sundance, Utah rather than facing her problems head-on on her own.

She is just the latest star to check into the Cirque Lodge. Last week, it was reported that Eva Mendes, notorious for her clean living, had checked into the facility for substance abuse problems. And, perhaps Cirque's most famous client, Lindsay Lohan was most recently in the facility late last year, checking out in October.

Kirsten Dunst looked tres casual as she lunched with friends at Joans on Third yesterday after returning to LA from Paris Fashion Week.

It's been reported that a 33-year-old Brooklyn man faces felony burglary charges for robbing Kirsten's SoHo Grand Hotel penthouse last month. Prosecutors said Beinerman and co-defendant James Jimenez broke into the room while Dunst was out and stole a $13,000 handbag, wallet and iPod from the actress' hotel suite.

Jarrod Beinerman, an ex-con and alleged drug dealer, has pleaded not guilty on the charges.

Spidey's girl Kirsten Dunst returned to LA and headed straight for her favorite restaurant, Joans On Third, yesterday. Dunst enjoyed lunch with a group of friends on the patio and was eager to get away from our photographer. I guess she didn't want to be seen so "dressed down."

Spiderman 3 opened in London to mixed reviews. As a lifelong Marvel fan, I feel that the only person to be correctly cast in this franchise was Rosemary Harris as Aunt May.
One good thing about Tobey Maguire though, is that he sure knows how to set the red carpet ablaze with his dapper dress sense and flamboyant shenannigans!
