Keira Knightley, James McAvoy, Saoirse Ronan, Vanessa Redgrave and director Joe Wright arrive at the 64th Venice Film Festival in Italy.

Their film, Atonement kicked off the festival this year and the movie, the screen adaptation of Ian McEwan's acclaimed novel, is hotly tipped to take away the Golden Lion award for Best Film at the festival. Its Oscar potential is already being talked up.

The Venice Film Festival runs through September 8th and, for the first time, the festival jury, headed by Zhang Yimou, will have to give a prize to a film with a gay theme or characters. The winners of Best Film, Director, Actor and Actress will also be unveiled on that date.

Things are quite busy for Pirates of the Caribbean star Keira Knightley. To relax a bit, she and a friend took a leisurely walk to Hyde Park to enjoy the summer sun.

Keira will begin filming her part as the fifth Duchess of Devonshire, an 18th century social powerhouse, in October and recently completed filming The Edge Of Love with Sienna Miller. She also stars with James McAvoy in Joe Wright's film Atonement, which opens the Venice Film Festival this month.

AND, Keira is continuing her career successes offscreen, too. Reports are she recently replaced the fading Kate Moss as the face of Chanel for an impressive $1 million per year.
