Mad props and a birthday shout out to Jessica Simpson, who turns 28 today. I love Jessica Simpson, and I'll tell you why: she totally has Katie Price syndrome. People like to underestimate her and think that she's dumb (remember the tuna comment on Newlyweds?), but she's actually an uber savvy business woman.

From hair extensions and lickable lotion to shoes and acne treatments, she's peddled just about everything and it's made her filthy rich. Good for her!

Looks like Jessica Simpson had some difficulty getting out of her limo outside her Manhattan hotel last night. A bodyguard helped her out and once out of the car, he got her and her little dog (in its oh-so-chic Louis Vuitton carrier) to safety.

With reports circulating that her romantic comedy with actor Luke Wilson, Blonde Ambition, is going straight to DVD in the US due to her poor acting in the film, Jessica Simpson is reportedly going back to her Texas roots and preparing to record her first country album.

Reports are that Simpson is going to be settling down in Nashville to begin working on the album and was spotted at a filming of CMT’s "Crossroads" on Thursday night. She's reportedly been in meetings with country singers and industry people including John Rich of Big & Rich.

We caught Jessica Simpson on the set of her new film, Major Movie Star yesterday in Beverly Hills.

In the film, fluffy, bubble gum movie star Megan Parker suddenly finds herself broke and humiliated in the public eye. She wanders from the wreckage of a car accident and witlessly enlists in the U.S. Army hoping in vain that it will change her life.

No word yet on a release date for the film.

Singer-turned-actress Jessica Simpson has reportedly broken her nose whilst filming her new movie Major Movie Star in Louisiana. The movie is about an American Hollywood actress who joins the army. She apparently suffered the break after accidentally hitting herself in the face with a gun. She said: "I was running with a gun over my head and fell over and broke my nose, it really hurt!" She has previously admitted her favorite body part is her slender nose, saying, "There are a lot of girls with a similar body to mine, but my nose is special and unique to me."

Hot Hollywood starlet Jessica Simpson launched her much anticipated swimwear line at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Miami yesterday in front of a star-studded audience.

The line included skimpy two-piece bikinis as well as bold colored one-piece suits.

Simpson reportedly played a major role in the design and marketing of the line and was said to have hand-selected the runway models (some of whom were Jessica look-alikes) promoting her designs during fashion week events. The line was co-designed by mom, Tina Simpson.

Jessica Simpson was careful to keep her left hand covered today during an outing to a holistic treatment place in LA..... could she be hiding an engagement ring from beau John Mayer? She came out of the office with her hand in her pocket and then later kept her sleave pulled down over her hand. This tactic has been used by other celebrities bfore; Paris Hilton when she got engaged to Paris Latsis kept her hand covered in this way for days before showing it off at a red carpet event!
