According to reports, the DEA are investigating two doctors who prescribed drugs to Heath Ledger before his death. Documents from the NYPD and Medical Examiner's office have been subpoenaed. The two doctors, one in California and one in Texas reportedly supplied the Brokeback Mountain star with the painkillers Oxycontin and Vicodin. Authorities are checking to see if the drugs were prescribed illegally.

The New York City medical examiner's report said that Ledger's death was an accidental overdose of six prescription drugs, including the two painkillers, sleeping pills and anti-anxiety medication.

It's reported that just two weeks after Heath Ledger's body was found lifeless in his SoHo apartment, the home is back on the market for $25,000 per month. The loft (in the photo above with blacked-out windows) had been rented by the late actor since September, 2007 for approximately $22,000 per month.

A real estate broker said "As ghoulish as it sounds, people will rent that place in a heartbeat, especially when the vacancy rate is below one percent...You don't wait around in a hot rental market like this."

The 4,400-square-foot apartment includes 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, an office, gourmet kitchen and balcony. It also features 15-foot tin ceilings, exposed-brick walls, cast-iron columns and a wood-burning fireplace. Instead of a doorman, the luxury, five-unit building includes an audio/visual intercom system with a key-locked elevator.

The tragic results are in, Heath Ledger's death was an accidental overdose of prescription drugs. There were six different types of pills found in the NY apartment where he died including those to treat anxiety and insomnia but according to Heath's father, none were taken to excess.

Heath's father has released the following statement.

"We remain humble as parents and a family, among millions of people worldwide who may have suffered the tragic loss of a child. Few can understand the hollow, wrenching, and enduring agony parents silently suffer when a child predeceases them. Today's results put an end to speculation, but our son's beautiful spirit and enduring memory will forever remain in our hearts.

While no medications were taken in excess, we learned today the combination of doctor-prescribed drugs proved lethal for our boy. Heath's accidental death serves as a caution to the hidden dangers of combining prescription medication, even at low dosage."

Our family enjoyed an extremely happy two week visit with Heath just prior to the New Year. Those recent precious days will stay with us forever. We as a family feel privileged to have some of his amazing magic moments captured in film. To most of the world Heath was an actor of immeasurable talent and promise. To those who knew him personally, Heath was a consummate artist whose passions also included photography, music, chess and directing. We knew Heath as a loving father, as our devoted son, and as a loyal and generous brother and friend.

We treasure our beautiful granddaughter Matilda (to our dear Michelle) as well as an unbelievably wonderful network of close friends, forever, around the world. Families rarely experience the uplifting, warm and massive outpouring of grief and support as have we, from every corner of the planet. This has deeply and profoundly touched our hearts and lives. We are eternally grateful.

At this moment we respectfully request the worldwide media allow us time to grieve privately, without the intrusions associated with press and photography.

Heath Ledger's ex-lover and mother of his daughter, Michelle Williams, has finally broken her silence on the tragic loss of Heath Ledger. The grieving actress released a statement through her publicist that reads: "Please respect our need to grieve privately. My heart is broken. I am the mother of the most tender-hearted, high-spirited, beautiful little girl who is the spitting image of her father. All that I can cling to is his presence inside her that reveals itself every day. His family and I watch Matilda as she whispers to trees, hugs animals, and takes steps two at a time, and we know that he is with us still. She will be brought up with the best memories of him."

The memorial for Heath Ledger continues to grow at the apartment in New York where he was found dead last week. Heath's father, Kim Ledger, made a heartbreaking visit to the Soho apartment yesterday and spent about an hour inside with several security guards.

It's reported that a small memorial service was held for Heath Ledger last night at Westwood Village Memorial Park in LA. The brief service was held around 8:00 on a rainy night in Los Angeles. According to the reports, attendees at the service included Heath's immediate family and a small group of friends including former girlfriend Naomi Watts.

Heath's body is now en-route to his native Australia and no public memorial has been planned for LA.

Heath Ledger is set to make his final journey. His body was moved from the NY funeral home yesterday and said to be on its way to Australia. A private ceremony is being kept under wraps back in his home country and a memorial is said to be scheduled for friends in Los Angeles this weekend. Mary Kate Olsen, who was rumored to be casually dating Heath during the three months prior to his death, has released a statement saying, "Heath was a friend. His death is a tragic loss. My thoughts are with his family."

According to reports, once Heath Ledger's masseuse discovered his body on Tuesday, she made two frantic calls to his latest girlfriend, Mary Kate Olsen, before calling 911 for help. According to the reports, masseuse Diane Lee Wolozin called Olsen initially to tell her that Heath was unconscious and Mary Kate replied that she would send her private security immediately. Then, after realizing the body was cold, she called a second time to tell Olsen she believed he was dead and she was calling 911. Mary Kate said her people were on the way but did not advise Wolozin to call 911.

Reportedly, detectives believe he was already dead at that time and had been for about two hours due to lividity, which refers to the way blood settles after a person dies.

Hate is rearing its ugly head in the wake of the tragic death of young actor Heath Ledger. The anti-homosexual rant website godhatesfags.com run by the Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, Kansas has issued a press release vowing to picket Heath Ledger's funeral. They are upset by the sexuality of the CHARACTER Ledger played in Brokeback Mountain.

The radical church is known for picketing the funerals of soldiers who perished in Iraq. Last year a Baltimore jury awarded the father of a Marine whose funeral was targeted by the group, led by Fred Phelps, nearly $11m in damages.

The hate group's funeral protests have led 22 states to enact or propose laws to limit the rights of protesters at funerals.

Westboro Baptist Church also reportedly condemns Muslims, Roman Catholics and Jews.

According to reports, The Southern Poverty Law Center classifies the church as a hate group and the organization is monitored by the Anti-Defamation League.

Actor Heath Ledger was reportedly found dead this afternoon in his Soho apartment. According to reports, a masseuse arrived for an appointment with Mr. Ledger and was let in the home by a housekeeper. The two knocked on the door to Ledger's bedroom and when there was no answer, entered and found him unconscious. They shook him and there was no response. Authorities were then called immediately.

Our condolences go out to Heath's family and friends during this difficult time.

Heath Ledger showed that he has no fashion sense whatsoever as he strutted down the red carpet at the 64th Annual Venice Film Festival's closing ceremony. The socks are definitely making a statement but, I think Mr. Ledger should invest in some new clothes. At least, Heath, please run out and pick up some new shoes!
