It was one year ago today that Anna Nicole Smith died while staying at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida.

Anna Nicole Smith would have been 40 years old today. Our thoughts are with her family as they remember her on this day.

Howard K. Stern and Larry Birkhead are each remembering Anna Nicole in their own way. Stern says, "My only wish is that Anna is celebrating her 40th birthday with Daniel and Howard (Marshall) in heaven and that they are able to experience the beautiful development of Dannielynn from above. Then I know that she would truly be at peace. She was more extraordinary than words can describe. I will never stop loving her."

Birkhead, who cares for their daughter Dannielynn, said, "We will have a private family celebration to remember Anna. Time still hasn't healed the wound of her untimely passing, as she truly was one of a kind...We miss her dearly."

Earlier today, the California Department of Justice began serving eight search warrants in connection with the death of the late Anna Nicole Smith. Included in the warrants were Dr. Khristine Eroshevich who was served at her home, a storage facility and several businesses connected with Anna's doctors. It is reported that Howard K. Stern was at Dr. Eroshevich at the time of the service. Howard K. Stern is shown here driving Anna Nicole's belongings in a rented truck to a storage facility back in June, could this possibly be the storage facility being checked out by authorities?

Danielynn gets double Daddy duty on her first Father's Day. Anna Nicole Smith's adorable 9 month daughter, who now lives with her biological dad Larry Birkhead in Anna's old home, had a photo shoot with her Larry but also had a visit with Anna's ex Howard K. Stern. It seems the two men are trying to get along for the sake of Danielynn and Larry was being extra generous by giving Howard a visit on Danielynn's all important first Father's Day.

Larry Birkhead is starting with a clean slate for himself and Danilyn as they move into Anna Nicole Smith's old hillside home in California. A tired looking Larry was spotted directing movers who were loading up a truck with Anna's posessions ready to go into storage. The items included Anna's old bed, a large stuffed teddy bear and an oversized leopard print chair. Other things were placed in the trash such as pill organizer, a painful reminder of Anna's tragic death. Larry also oversaw a delivery of new furniture and Howard K. Stern was also at the home for most of the day.

After month's of speculation DNA results finally prove that Anna Nicole Smith's former boyfriend Larry Birkhead, is in fact the father of her baby Dannielynn.   Birkhead jubilantly announced the DNA results after the closed hearing in Nassau and joyously said ''My baby's going to be coming home pretty soon.''

Howard Stern, Smith's lawyer-turned-companion, who also believed he was the father and also sought for custody of Danielynn has been caring for her since Smith's sudden death due to an accidental overdose in Florida, said he would not fight for custody.  ''I'm obviously very disappointed but my feelings toward Dannielynn have not changed'' Stern said.

Ouch! Howard K Stern was fined yesterday at court in the Bahamas by judges who deemed his DNA testing appeal as frivolous.  The judges ordered Stern to pay $5K to the Registrar General and $5K to Larry Birkhead's Bahamanian attorney.  That's a slap on the wrist considering the implications of the case. It's good somebody's putting their foot down.  We could very well be on our way to discovering who Dannielyn's real father is!

The Broward County Medical Examiner's office publicly announced Anna Nicole Smith's autopsy results.  Her death was due to an accidental overdose of drugs, none of them illegal.  Anna Nicole was reportedly taking nine different meds, ranging from Methadone to anti-anxiety prescriptions.  Not shocking news, but it does make makes her passing all the sadder -- she must've been in a confused, painful state, both physically and emotionally.  Hopefully, Dannielynne's paternity and custody situation will be resolved soon so everyone can be at peace!

Anna Nicole Smith will finally be laid to rest in the Bahamas tomorrow following weeks of bitter court battles in Florida. It is reported that Anna's burial will come following an over the top memorial service at an undisclosed church wth 300 guests. Anna's friend, Patrik Simpson of Beverly Hills told the Associated Press "It will be a very beautiful, Anna Nicole send-off. Of course it will be over the top because it's Anna Nicole." It is unclear if it there will be an open casket but Anna will be wearing a dress designed for her by Simpson's partner Pol Atteu and there will be lots of pink flowers and a well known singer will be performing. "It will be something very beautiful, very private, very over the top and very pink," simpson added. The burial will take place at Lakeview Memorial Gardens & Mausoleums where Anna's tragic son Daniel is already buried. It will be a much more intimate affair than at the church with about only 30 people.

Following an emotional day in court the decision has finally been made that Anna Nicole Smith will be reuniuted with her beloved son Daniel. Anna will be buried alongside Daniel in the Bahamas after a tearful judge left the decision up to the court appointed attorney for the Anna's baby daughter and next of kin, Dannielynn. Richard Milstein announced his plans Thursday shortly after the judge gave him control of Smith's final resting place. It is uncertain when the burial will occur but hopefully it will be soon as Anna Nicole's body is reportedly deteriorating faster than usual and so the tortured star can finally rest in peace.

As of Wednesday, the court hearing continued with testimony from Anna Nicole's mother, Virgie Arthur, ex-boyfriend Larry Birkhead and longtime companion Howard K Stern.  The three gave testimony that will help the judge make a decision about the fate of Smith's body and where it will be laid to rest.

Day one in the Anna Nicole Probate and Custody battle in which all of the three key figures appeared at The Broward County Courthouse in Fort Lauderdale Fl.  Both Howard K Stern and Anna's mother Virgie Arthur became visibly agitated as the court discussed Anna Nicole's Decomposing Body.

Anna's mother and Anna's former boyfriend Larry Birkhead embraced when they met in court. Larry and his legal team left the court smiling to cheers from the crowd.

Looks like the Doctor who prescribed methadone to the late Anna Nicole Smith under numerous aliases is now the subject of an inquiry by the Medical Board of California on the legality of prescribing drugs to someone who is using an alias.  They are also enquiring into physician misconduct allegations as well.  Dr Sandeep Kapoor is seen here in the blue shirt with Anna Nicole at Gay Pride in West Hollywood, CA in June 2005.

While life for Anna Nicole was not easy these past few months, she held dear her husband, Howard K. Stern, her daughter, Dannielynn Hope, her most cherished friends, beloved dogs, and finally, her work with TRIMSPA. Anna knew both the joy of giving life, and the heartache of losing a child. Tragic model and Trim Spa spokeswoman Anna Nicole Smith has died today at age 39 in Florida, according to her attorney Ron Rale. Desperate attempts were made to save her life but CPR and emergency incubation failed, she passed away at Memorial Regional Hospital. Smith collapsed at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida and was found unresponsive in her hotel room. She was taken to hospital at 2pm and died around 3:45 PM EST. Anna Nicole spiralled out of control following the premature death of her son Daniel, aged 20, on September 10th 2006. She is survived by daughter Dannielynn Hope.

Former playmate Anna Nicole Smith left the Bahamas to arrive on Friday in San Francisco to continue her legal battle over her late husband's fortunes.
No doubt having no power, water or sewage since mid October contributed to her withdrwal from the island paradise.
