Mar 8, 08 08:23 PMCourtney Love and her late husband, Kurt Kobain, have reportedly been the victims of identity theft. Fraudsters not only set up almost 200 credit cards in Love's name, but also purchased a $3.2 million house using Kobain's social security number. Love met police this week to give them details of a probe by a forensic accounting firm which discovered $72 million missing which included stolen checks and cars purchased by the thieves. Reports also state that Courtney has known about the fraud for five years. She said, "I knew it had been going on since when I went cuckoo -- bananas -- in 2003. It was fraud after fraud. But nobody believed me until now. I did a check on my deceased husband's social security number and he has a house in New Brunswick, NJ. He bought it last year." Kurt Kobain committed suicide in 1994 at the age of 27, making Courtney the owner of 98 percent of the band Nirvana's catalogue.
