According to reports, the DEA are investigating two doctors who prescribed drugs to Heath Ledger before his death. Documents from the NYPD and Medical Examiner's office have been subpoenaed. The two doctors, one in California and one in Texas reportedly supplied the Brokeback Mountain star with the painkillers Oxycontin and Vicodin. Authorities are checking to see if the drugs were prescribed illegally.
The New York City medical examiner's report said that Ledger's death was an accidental overdose of six prescription drugs, including the two painkillers, sleeping pills and anti-anxiety medication.
