It's recently been reported that rocker Rod Stewart's model wife Penny Lancaster had back surgery prior to joining the UK show "Strictly Come Dancing" and used the show as a type of rehabilitation to aid in healing. She was booted in week six and said she didn't tell fans about the operation so she would be judged fairly on her dancing ability and not her disability from the surgery.
Penny reportedly had the procedure prior to dancing to fix a slipped disc in her spine. Doctors warned that if she didn't have the surgery, it may lead to paralysis if left untreated. Penny says she's happy to be able to walk at all and, that the muscles in her left foot aren't quite back to full working order which may have contributed to her struggling with the high-energy routine that led to her being voted off the show. "I may have been eliminated ... but the training and dancing was the best form of rehabilitation and healing," she said.
