In 2005 there was a scream heard around the world when Leelee Sobieski told her agent she was taking a hiatus during her prime Hollywood years to go back to school and get a degree from Brown University.
Well, the hiatus is over and she's on her way back after getting her degree and taking a year off, living with an ex-boyfriend and playing housewife.
Sobieski who has starred in films including Eyes Wide Shut and Joan of Arc said, "I'd been working since I was 11, and for work, you need to live. To be able to make an interesting character onscreen, you need to lead an interesting life. If you're only working, you have nothing to give your character because you don't exist as a normal human being. It's this character, then that character, then that character until there's no real you anymore."
Other stars that took time out of their acting careers to further their educations include Jodie Foster, Claire Danes, Natalie Portman and Julia Stiles.
